Chase started the day with a solid practice but slowed a little in qualifying than what his practice times was and qualified P4. With the roll of the dice to determine the invert he started on the front row and took the lead on lap 1 and maintained the lead for the first 27 laps before being passed by the 32 car and a lap later the 15 car. Chase settled into 3rd for awhile before the car started to tighten up on him due to the toe being knock out with all the close tight racing and fell back to 5th. On lap 40 the 6th place car decided to go into turn 3 and made contact with Chase and spun him out. Caution came out for the spin and he had to restart from the rear. Chase quickly moved thru the field and when the checkers fell he finished P4.
"I learned alot the first 27 laps of the race holding off two of the top drivers here and all in all it was a good night,' Chase said. "With the exception of being taken out on lap 40. I was determined to get back towards the front after that incident and with the toe being knocked out earlier in the race P4 was the best I could do."
