Rookie LMSC driver Chase Dixon took to the track early Friday morning to get a few practice laps in at Kingsport Speedway prior to the Advance Auto Parts LMSC race. The guys worked hard all day and found a set up that Chase felt like he would be good for the race.
Chase was coming off 2 previous 2nd place finishes and was looking for more out of the car and himself. Prior to qualifying we discovered a tire from the previous race that had some deep cuts in the sidewall where he and another car had made contact. We had to get a replacement from the scuff pile per track rules.
Chase went out for qualifying and laid down a solid P5 in a tight field on times. As the luck of the dice roll Chase took the pole for the start of the race. Chase fell back to second at the beginning of the race before being passed and was currently running 3rd when the first caution came out on lap 11 involving 2 lap cars and the leader.
As the race resumed Chase settle in 2nd and then caution came out again on lap 42 for rain. After a brief period of time racing resumed and when the checkers was displayed Chase came home in p2. First and foremost we can't begin to Thank the good Lord enough for a safe race for all the drivers and crews.

Chase has undoubtedly has had a Rookie season to remember thus far with a Win, (3) 2nd, (1) 3rd, (1) 4th, (1) 5th, (2) top 10's.
