First and foremost CDM would like to say Thank You to all the Drivers, Crews and Fans that has reached out to us over the last few days over the lost of my Brother and Chase's Uncle. Randy will most certainly be missed by us but we know that he and the good Lord will be right in the seat every lap with Chase.
On a very hot day at the Concrete Jungle and a solid practice both Chase and Colby qualified P5 for their divisions. Chase took the green flag in the Advance Auto weekly racing series late model division and on lap 4 he spun coming out of 4 after battling another car for position. He had to restart in the back of a 14 car field and made his way back to 8th by the halfway point of the race. With tight racing everywhere on the track he had to be on his game when cars tangled coming out of 2 in front of him and he had to make a last second decision and missed being involved. After the restart with 14 to go Chase was in 5th and was able to make the pass on 2 more cars to bring it home in P3.
Colby took the green flag in the Sportsmans division in P5. The racing was close and intense throughout the whole race as the top 6 raced close for the first 15 laps before getting spread out a little. Colby was clicking off some of his best times yet and was consistently backing up his times lap after lap. Towards the end of the race he got into a fierce battle with the 17 car and they ran side by side swapping positions by a nose each lap until the checkers fell and he come home P6.
I know 2 uncles that were smiling down from heaven after these 2 kids raced their tails off.
